Our Origin

We do our best every day to make our customers happy

Nestled within a shopping center in Cairns (FNQ)—known for its tropical resort atmosphere—stands You-Mart-Japan, a Japanese grocery store that brings a distinct taste and feel of Japan to the area.

After finally fulfilling his dream of moving to Australia, owner Ted gained valuable experience in the hotel and restaurant industry before crossing paths with its predecessor, "Maru-You." Amid shifting business directions, and driven by a strong conviction that "this store must never disappear from this town," he decided to take over as owner himself, relaunching it as You-Mart-Japan in 2015.

Expanding from a single neighborhood shop, we are pleased to announce the opening of our new retail location in a shopping center, as well as the launch of our online store.
